MDX DEFENSIVE TACTICS®  is a complete professional and realistic defensive tactics system that was originally developed for Military and Law Enforcement personnel.

As part of this rigorous personal defense system, officers learn Skills, Concepts, and Principles that will help them thrive in a violent altercation with a combative subject:

• Situational Awareness (before, during, and after an attack).
• Develop a winning "Never Fall Back" mindset.
• How to be a hard target at work and in your daily life.
• Develop your skills, conditioning, mobility, and power.
• How to use appropriate force necessary to neutralize threats.

MDX DEFENSIVE TACTICS® has five (5) Major Categories:

1. Defensive Striking and Weapon Transition:  The MDX DEFENSIVE TACTICS® course teaches participants how to strike fast and hard with power at high-value targets and then transition to less-than-lethal or lethal force weapons as the situation dictates. 

2. Survival & Escape Strategies:  The MDX DEFENSIVE TACTICS® course trains participants to use reliable leverage-based techniques to neutralize the initial barrage of strikes and escape from underneath the subject to regain a position of advantage. 

3. Weapon Retention Techniques:  The MDX DEFENSIVE TACTICS® course teaches a series of simple yet highly-effective weapon retention principles that will defeat an attacker’s attempt to disarm the officer from any position in the fight, standing, or on the ground.

4. Tactical De-escalation: In the MDX DEFENSIVE TACTICS® program officers learn the great extent to which de-escalation is the officer’s own mental state.  In violent physical encounters, officers learn how to stay calm and mentally alert in order to use the best force options for the situation at hand.

5. Arrest & Control Procedures: The MDX DEFENSIVE TACTICS® program specializes in the application of easy-to-learn highly effective handcuffing techniques that can be applied from any position in the fight and are effective in both solo and multi-officer arrest scenarios.
